Today, the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee held a confirmation hearing for Gladys Brown, Governor Corbett’s nominee to the PA Public Utility Commission. Attached is a copy of her testimony (Testimony of Gladys M. Brown). Her nomination was reported out of committee unanimously.
Ms. Brown has been serving as Counsel for the Senate Democratic Leadership for over 22 years – she has worked on all the major deregulation bills including telecommunications, electricity and gas as well as all of the other energy and utility related pieces of legislation.
Comments by members of the Committee were very positive and Ms. Brown was commended for the great work she did while serving all members of the Senate. The full Senate is expected to vote on her nomination early next week. Once confirmed, the new commissioner will serve a five-year term ending on April 1, 2018.
