Auditor General Eugene DePasquale appointed five senior advisors just before his swearing-in on Tuesday, January 15.
DePasquale has tapped Suzanne Itzko to serve as chief of staff. Itzko formerly served as deputy secretary of administration at the Department of Transportation and as a special assistant to former Governor Ed Rendell.
Kathy Boockvar will serve as chief counsel. Boockvar was formerly a senior attorney with Advancement Project, a founding partner of the law firm Boockvar and Yeager and a staff attorney with North Penn Legal Services.
Liz Gerloff Wagenseller will serve as deputy auditor general for external affairs. Most recently, Wagenseller served as campaign manager for Eugene DePasquale’s campaign for auditor general. She previously worked at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and Peter D. Hart Research Associates in Washington, D.C.
For the position of deputy auditor general for audits, DePasquale appointed John Lori. Lori most recently co-founded WFG Capital Advisors, a regional merger and acquisitions firm. Prior to that, he was the COO/CFO at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Lori also served as deputy secretary of business assistance at the Department of Community and Economic Development under former Secretary Dennis Yablonsky.
DePasquale named Barry Ciccocioppo to the position of communications director/press secretary. Ciccocioppo has served as a journalist in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and for the Harrisburg Patriot-News. Most recently he was communications director for the Democratic House Appropriations Committee. He previously served as deputy director of communications for former Governor Ed Rendell and as press secretary for the Department of Labor and Industry.
